ETHICS AND ENTERPRISE AWARDS: SPECIAL MENTION FOR LU-VE S.p.A.

On the 30th of January 2009, the Organizing Committee of “Ethics and Enterprise” awarded a “Special Mention” LU-VE S.p.A. in the Health and Safety at Work category, concerning two projects: “Zero Risks – Zero Injuries” and “Zero Risks – Safely Together.” The jury, composed of prestigious professors representative of excellence in the Italian universities, attributed this motivation to their decision: “For the profuse commitment to the promotion of a culture diffused with safety in the workplace, through the improvement of the working environment, for the greater involvement of the workers in the identification of risks and for the original idea of rewarding the work unit with the least injuries.”
The “Ethics and Enterprise” initiative (which for the second year running has won a medal of recognition from the President of the Italian Republic, Giorgio Napolitano), is organised under the patronage of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and the Minister of Employment, Health and Social Policies. The award is promoted by associations of senior managers and other professionals belonging to the CGIL, CISL and UIL Trade Unions, Federmanagement and the Association of Personnel Directors. “This year’s award has once again attracted great attention from the world of work – explained the Organizing Committee - and we are totally committed to continuing to promote and encourage the spread of an ethical management business model, founded on stable industrial relations, cooperation between company, work, society and institutions and on the cenral importance of the individual person, with the objective of implementing and developing a sustainable growth model”.
The 2008 event took place in Rome in the Library of CNEL. Important Italian companies and public organizations participated, including Acquedotto Pugliese S.p.A., Comune di Milano, Elica S.p.A., Gucci, Indesit Company S.p.A., Manpower Formazione SpA, Medilife SpA, Poste Italiane S.p.A. e Provincia di Milano.
