18/11/08 - LU-VE HEADQUARTERS GOES GREEN
The LU-VE Group’s success in the international market derives also from its policy of leading-edge research and development and its respect for the fundamental principles of protecting the environment. With this in view, the headquarters of the Group in Uboldo has installed an extremely modern photovoltaic system which, using the light of the sun, will produce over 227,000 kWh in only its first year, with a saving of almost 50 TOE (Tonnes of Oil Equivalent) and a consequent reduction of emissions which lead to atmospheric pollution and the greenhouse effect. (e.g. cutting out more than 112,000 kg of CO2/year).

The LU-VE Group is attending the National Meeting of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning in Large-Scale Distribution Centres in co-operation with CNR of Milan which takes place on 5 November in Milan - Aula Magna CNR - Via Bassini 15 - Città Studi. Ing. Stefano Filippini, R&D Manager, presents: The correct selection of evaporators and condesers in order to reduce the energy consumption of the installation: certification, EC technology, energy classification of condensers, condensers with subcooling.
10/10/08 - MATTEO LIBERALI, NEW MANAGING DIRECTOR
At their meeting on the 28th of July 2008, the Board of Directors of LU-VE - at the proposal of Board Member Professor Marco Vitale and having heard the opinion of the Board of Statutory Auditors - proceeded to nominate Matteo Liberali as Managing Director of the company. The editorial staff of “LU-VE –What’s New” join all the employees of the LU-VE Group in wishing Matteo Liberali all the best in his new role.
10/10/08 - HTS IN GREAT ACTIVITY
HTS has initiated the work of expanding its plant in Novosedly in the Czech Republic. Managing Director Franco Fonzari reports that August saw the start of the work of optimizing the existing structure. The development plan provides for a new industrial unit destined to house the machines and lines which will increase the production capacity of HTS according to schedule for the next few years. The first stage includes constructing premises of approximately 3,000 square metres. HTS also recently participated in InnoTrans - International Trade Fair on Transport Technology - for the first time last September in Berlin. In fact, HTS is at the top of this sector for heat exchangers (evaporators, condensers and radiators) for air conditioning in trains. The LU-VE Group is exhibiting at Chillventa and will show several new innovative products, in addition to the new FHC commercial cubic unit cooler range launched in spring, the new CDH dual discharge industrial unit coolers and the revised range of SAV-EAV 500-630-710 air cooled condensers. 02/07/08 - LU-VE GROUP: THREE EHLD FOR MARBURG UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL
Three 18-motor EHLD units fitted with Dry & Spray and complete with regulators, are to be installed at the Marburg University Hospital, in combination with a new facility from Siemens Medical Solutions for the treatment of tumours. The Siemens equipment, the second of its type in the world, is for the treatment of certain tumours which are difficult to cure because of their location or proximity to vital organs. The system, which will be cooled by LU-VE’s EHLD units, uses protons and heavy ion beams. An accelerator, irradiating a precisely circumscribed target area, bombards the tumour destroying the malignant cells. According to the project managers, approximately 2,000 patients a year will be able to undergo this new therapy.
01/07/08 - LU-VE SUPPLIES EHLD FOR THE BMW PLANT IN LIPSIA
In recent months, two prestigious German car manufacturers chose LU-VE’s EHLD Dry & Spray: Volkswagen for their headquarters in Wolfsburg, and Mercedes for their new research centre in Stuttgart. The same choice was made by the Frankfurt Fair for their new Pavilion 4, preferring LU-VE’s cabled EHLD units to the traditional evaporative towers. Now another important German car company, BMW, is going to install five 18-motor EHLD machines equipped with WSS – Water Spray System, in their factory in Lipsia. The LU-VE units are for cooling water used in the process of pressing the door and bonnet panels. In 2003 the LU-VE Group had already supplied five 12-motor SHLDN units for the water cooling process and an additional sixth machines has recently been ordered by BMW to complete the installation in question.
24/06/08 - LU-VE GROUP AND GOLF DU FROID
During a brief spell of good weather in this extremely wet spring of 2008, the “Cold Golf Day” took place on the 22nd of May. The setting for the event was the splendid Governeur Course, Monthieux, just outside Lyon. LU-VE Group was the one of the partners and sponsors of the event. Over 60 people took part: representatives, distributors, installers, agents, constructors, consultants and designers connected to the world of Refrigeration and Conditioning, from all over Europe. The tournament began in the afternoon, after refreshments and an excellent lunch in the shade of the trees on the Governeur Estate. The atmosphere was convivial and light-hearted but with moments of real competitiveness amongst the better players. A group of absolute beginners enjoyed an introductory course of golf lessons. 15/05/08 - Wider range of condensers and dry coolers
The evolutionary process - which started with the SAV-EAV-EHVD range of condensers and the corresponding SAL-EAL-EHLD range of dry coolers - continues on condensers and dry coolers with axial fans, thanks to:new large diameter fans (900mm);new fan shrouds specifically designed and further strengthened to give even greater reliability.The two new series, X (eXtra capacity and quiet running) and U (Ultra high capacity and very quiet running) provide an even wider range, adapted to all installation demands. The new PHVC range of condensers with centrifugal fans is carefully designed to fulfil the special requirements of clients and substitutes the MHVC range. Centrifugal fans are used in applications where there is high external static pressure, for example when the air flow is ducted. Further information is available in the product section of the site.

On June 12th 2008 the Association Française du Froid will celebrate its centenary with an international conference dedicated to the impact of refrigeration on everyday life, to refrigeration as the key to sustainable development and to future developments in the industry.The ceremony will take place in Room XII of the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris in the presence of Louis Lucas, President of AFF and Henk van der Ree, President of IIF – Institut Internatiuonal du Froid.The LU-VE Group is a partner in this event. 07/03/08 - Presenting the new range of FHC unit coolers
The new FHC range of cubic commercial unit coolers reflects the continual improvements introduced by the company in recent years. The achieved objective is the production of equipment of first-class technical quality and with high-efficiency heat exchange capability. The units have also been designed with great attention to detail and they keep energy consumption to a minimum. Most importantly, this range is significantly wide, featuring capacities (at catalogue specifications for 6 mm fin spacing) from 1.6 to 76.2 kW. This has been made possible thanks to the use of no less than 5 fan groups (ø 275, 300, 350, 450, 500 mm), which are the origin of the family groups F27HC, F30HC, F35HC, F45HC and F50HC. The LU-VE Group will be present at the Interclima+Elec Home&Building exhibition that will be held at the Paris Expo, Porte de Versailles, on 5-8 February 2008 (Hall 7.1, Aisle K, Stand no. 26).
